Question 3: What have you learned from the audience feedback?
In this evaluation question my group and i have used a couple of different good/reliable methods to get as much audience feedback, this will give us information on how we can improve our final products next time we make a Digipack or trailer to a film. However i will be talking about how the feedback helped us change our final products so they would suit the audience better and appeal to them more which means they are more likely to see the film. The first thing we did to get audience feedback was create a survey monkey which we made a questionnaire on and the asked people to fill out, at the end we gather all the results and see what everyone's opinions were, their favourite bits and bits they disliked.
Survey monkey View more presentations from reece_jw | To the left is the survey monkey we created which is an online questionnaire about our products. This question is not on a face to face basis so people will be totally honest on here unlike if they were answering the question in front of the group, i see this as much better because with people being honest we will be able to get truthful feedback returned and not what we want to hear. The questionnaire is a very simple thing to make on the internet but also very useful in the way it will help us improve our products to better quality and to what appeals more to the audience. |
Below is a number of videos which we interview different people (roughly the target audience we are aiming for) and we ask them a number of questions about our 3 products. The questions we asked the people below are stated in each video but are along the lines of what did you like and dislike about each one of our products (Magazine front cover, film poster and trailer).
Poster Feedback
The feedback on the poster was of a mixed response because a lot of people did like it but it could have been improved so it looked more appealing to the audience. On the survey monkey everyone did like it but but did suggest improvements to making the font a bit more interesting and look better so it appealing to the viewers more. On the other hand positive comments were left saying how they liked the dark colour scheme because it was clearly about a horror film.
The people we interviewed also did like the poster but did also suggest improvements that could be made. There are many good things said about the poster, one was that the release was in a red font so it was easy to spot for the audience. The things that were mentioned for improvements is that there are too many credits on the poster and also that the eyes at the top could have looked more scary and looking into your soul.
The conclusion about the poster was it was a success but it could have been improved just so it looked that little bit more professional and appealed to the audience more. Overall i think the poster was a good hit with the audience and really represented the film well and the way we wanted it to.
Front Cover Magazine Feedback
The feedback of the magazine front cover is mostly positive but could have been improved in certain places to make it just look that little bit better. The things people did like about the front cover of the magazine is that the colour scheme is the same as the poster and there is a clear link between this product and the poster we made. The improvements that were suggested though is that there wasn't enough information actually about the film itself and that the comic strip was a good idea but the colour was just to bright bearing in mind it was a horror issue.
The conclusion i have come to about the magazine front cover was that it was a good idea and it was a good end product but the little things like the yellow font could possibly have been in a different colour to make it look more part of the horror genre.
Trailer Feedback
The feedback on the trailer was very positive and nearly everyone who had watched it liked it and wanted to find out what actually happened to the 3 friends which were the victims. The improvements that people had suggested was that the audio/diegetic sound could have been smoother because it was a bit hard to hear and a lot of back ground noise was involved. The positives though were that people enjoyed the change the the black & white to colour when the music dropped and that the music was a good choice and went well with the trailer.
The conclusion i have come to about the peoples views on our trailer is that it was very good but next time make sure the diegetic sound is clear and that there is no back ground noise and also maybe special effects could have been used to make the film more exciting and get the audiences heart pumping.
